How Much Will We Miss Crop Top Jerseys?

As part of a bunch of rule changes for next season, the NCAA announced it is banning crop top jerseys. Johnny Depp fans all over the country wept.

So did Will Smith devotees.

Elsewhere, a smaller -- but just as enthusiastic -- group of fans wept.

One thing's for sure, though. This rule would never have passed during the 1990s, when the University of Miami football team was at the peak of its powers. I would have loved to see the NCAA try to tell those guys what type of jerseys to wear.

By the way, you know which occasional crop-topper was on that team?

That's right...The Rock. Just imagine Mark Emmert or any of his stooges trying to tell The Rock and The U that crop tops weren't allowed.

But since the new rule seems like it's for real, I guess fans of the male crop top will have to take solace in the fact that the style might be becoming, like, a thing. As the weather heats up, I might actually be heading out to buy my own vintage Depp jersey. If that happens, though, people won't so much be weeping as washing their eyes out.
